The lndonesian Catholic Communily of Perth (ICCP) – formerly known as WAICC is a public association of Christ’s faithful of diocesan right canonically erected in 2014 with public juridical personality by the Most Rev. Timothy Costelloe SDB, Archbishop of Perth This association laying a firm foundation for unifying, deepening and strengthening the Catholic faith amongst the Catholic Indonesian population of Perth, Western Australia.
Accordingly, ICCP aim to provide: some understanding of the local culture and customs to Catholic lndonesian newcomers to Perth and introduce them to local parishes; maintain an awareness of the lndonesian cultural heritage in the present day and for the sake of future generations; and support the Catholic faith development of lndonesian students studying in Perth, in this way doing their part to evangelise within the wider society of Perth in accordance with the spirit of Christifideles laici, the Post- Synodal Apostolic Exhortation of St. John Paul ll, on the vocation and mission of the lay faithful in the world of today.
Fr. Yosep Remi Asnabun
Born in Lokong, Flores, Indonesia, in 1968, Fr. Yosep Remi Asnabun enrolled in Minor Seminary at Pius XII Minor Seminary, Flores (1983-1989), followed by Major Seminary at St. Peter Major Seminary, Flores (1989-1999). His Priestly ordination was officiated at Labuan Bajo, Indonesia, in September 1999 and incardinated to Perth Archdiocese in April 2007. Father Remi was appointed the Chaplain of ICCP since the 1st of July 2014
